Life truly starts the day you say “yes” to Jesus.

Who is Jesus?

Jesus is more than you could ever need. He is more than the eye could see. If you’re looking for peace, He offers plenty.

Jesus is fully man and knows our struggles.

Jesus is fully God and came to earth to make a way for you to be in a right relationship with God.

Jesus is a protector of the orphan and oppressed, a shelter for the homeless, a hiding place for the abused, and an anchor for our storms.

Jesus is the light of the world. And He is the bread of life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and offers true life to all who do not know him.

Jesus was, is, and forever will be King.

Jesus loves you, and invites you to follow Him.

4 things you need to understand in order to know God personally

1
God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you.

God’s Love

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

God’s Plan

Jesus said, “I came so that they could have life—indeed, so that they could live life to the fullest” (John 10:10). God’s design is for us to have a full and meaningful life.

So why do most people not experience this full and meaningful life? Because…

He died in our place.

“God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). God has bridged the gulf that separates us from Him by sending His Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the cross in our place to pay the penalty for our sins.

Jesus took the punishment we deserve.

He rose from the dead.

Suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!” (Luke 24:4-6).  The Resurrection is the victory of Jesus.

He is the only way to God.

“Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me’” (John 14:6). These are the words of Jesus. When He died on the cross and rose from the dead, He validated His words.

Just knowing these 3 things is not enough.

The only way to know and experience God’s love and plan for our lives is through Jesus Christ.

We are sinful.

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23).

We were created to have a relationship with God. However, God is perfect, and we are not. We miss the mark of God’s perfection. Every time we miss that mark, the Bible calls it sin. Whether big or small, sin stands in the way of knowing God.

We are separated.

“The wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23). Death is spiritual separation from God.

God is holy and people are sinful. Like the Grand Canyon, a great gulf now separates us from God. When we try to attain a fulfilling life through our own efforts (such as a doing good things, philosophy, or religion), we inevitably fail.

But there is good news! Jesus made a way to bridge the gap.

All of us sin, and that sin separates us from God.

We must individually respond to Jesus and choose to follow him daily.

We must receive Christ.

“As many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name” (John 1:12).

We receive Christ through faith.

“By grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

When we receive Christ, we experience a new life.

We receive Christ by personal invitation.

Jesus says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him” (Revelation 3:20).

“If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9).

You can receive Christ right now by faith through prayer.

Prayer is simply talking to God. God knows your heart and is not concerned with you saying “the right words.” God is more concerned with the attitude of your heart.

The following is a suggested prayer. If this prayer expresses the desire of your heart, then you can pray this prayer right now and Christ will come into your life, as He promised.

Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank You for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of every area of my life. I choose to follow you. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.
